Karis works across a range of TSIP projects, leading on community engagement thus bringing a humanistic approach to the consultation process. She is currently consulting on the design process for a citizen-led fund for Guy’s St Thomas Charity.

Karis is an Entrepreneur with 16 years of experience in Youth & Community Engagement. Having worked in some of the “toughest” boroughs in London with some of most hard to reach children and families as a youth worker, advocate, family support worker, girls specialist within the Criminal Justice System and a Life Coach, she has the qualifications, expertise, life skills and knowledge to influence positive change.

Karis graduated from Goldsmiths University in 2011 with a 2:1 degree in Applied Social Science, Community Development & Youth Work. She studied for a Criminal Justice Effective Practice Leadership Qualification, deferred a Masters in Social Work at Goldsmiths and is a 2018 Winston Churchill Fellow.

In 2015, Karis quit her job as a Girls Criminal Justice Specialist to create her own organisation, Karismatic Minds, which empowers, educates and supports teenage girls to build confidence and resilience through experience. She has toured schools, colleges and universities across the UK, inspiring and motivating thousands of students; when she is not doing any of the above you may catch her somewhere in London “Jerkin” chicken on her family Caribbean Street Food truck.
