Marcus Millanaise

Community Researcher

My name is Marcus Millanaise, and I run a small business called First Touch London Limited. I’m really excited to be joining Centric and believe it is an amazing opportunity. I also think it is very important that we get out there and try to make a difference within the community, especially regarding research on the most important issues at this moment in time, such as going green and the ecosystems around this.

I run market stalls and am out there at least five days a week within the community, interacting with many different people. This is very beneficial and important for the research that needs to be done. I aim to use my stall as a point of outreach by giving out leaflets, helping disseminate knowledge, and better engaging with the community. I am quite well known within the community and know many people, so this will be a great starting point for me. This familiarity will help me engage with people who are more receptive to things like interviews.

I am really looking forward to getting involved with the outreach for the Green Agenda, as this is something I am passionate about. I want to help improve the environment and assist others in our collective effort to better our world, however we can. This is very important to me as an individual, and I think it is essential to get more people from ethnic backgrounds involved in this space. We need to highlight the importance of these issues and make a difference.
