Hello, I am Ransford Omani Clottey and the Lead Researcher for Centric Ghana. Prior to joining Centric, I did not have the knowledge of research and its importance, especially in cultural knowledge production. As a key figure in Centric, I am not just navigating the waters of social entrepreneurship but also steering the ship towards a horizon of impactful change. I have been working with Doris Ankra in every step I take towards empowerment, sustainability, and community upliftment.
In Ghana, there is a thriving concern with youth employment, waste management, poor sanitation, and inadequate sewage disposal. As an organisation, the help we get from Dr. Danquah, which we are very grateful for, serves as a beacon of hope for others to walk on. There are many people in the rural areas who are in extreme need and in a state of sickness, living in conditions made at home or dying because there is poor health and inadequate health support.
Centric has become the light for some of the youth. The police do not stop us from our activities as it is rendering a positive impact on the communities. We clean beaches, tackle sewage issues, and attempt to have a goal.
We are really looking forward to working with Centric more closely using Zoom meetings and collaborations.
It is great to hear about the Church of England committing funds which will help us as an organisation to build our community research team from a point of research skills, equipment for the clubs, and also looking at investments in recycling and upcycling of waste to create jobs and also make a positive attempt to do something with the waste we are collecting.
